The Rugby World Cup begins and although we don’t get to see the action first hand we welcome the distraction away from our new “normal”. As we have had a sneak peek of the FanZone in Hagley park all we need now is a good bit of weather and a whole lot of Cantabrians to make for a fun place for the family and friends to hang out. The FanZone has 1000 seats in front of the big screens so if you get in early you won’t have to carry a deck chair. Of course there is plenty of room on the newly laid grass!
Don’t let the rugby steal the show however as there is a lot on this weekend. On Saturday Horseshoe lake RA is having a mass Garage Sale, New Brighton is having a Barter session (see below) and all weekend 1000s of trees will be planted around Canterbury by volunteers working with the Greenway Canterbury Trust. Plenty for all to enjoy.
Have a great weekend.
