The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.
– George Bernard Shaw

CanCERN are continuing to raise the issue of resident disengagement from CERA and others due to the decision making processes and the belief that it is better to be silent than to publicly discuss what is happening behind the scenes. We believe this is detrimental to the wellbeing of residents and will have a major impact on the role of community in being part of this recovery.

This is entirely a leadership issue. What we see is Minister Brownlee dictating the way in which CERA staff will work. We understand that Public Service demands loyalty to the Minister but at what point does the culture need to be challenged? We believe the challenge is necessary now.
